As the interest in our Portuguese products grows we find ourselves returning to develop new products with the suppliers we have been working with since 1998.

We are planning on heading north to the Galician border, then return to our favored area, the Alentejo. In June, what we discover on this trip will find its way to our barn in the Skagit Valley for our annual barn sale.

NCECA – National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, is holding their 49th annual conference in Seattle March 28-31.

We are featuring both the raku and paperclay works of husband and wife team, Martim Santa Rita and Carmina Anastacio, of Portugal.

Both were academically trained in the field of ceramics in Lisbon. They show their work at museums and galleries in their country. We are proud to be their US representatives.

Ready for Spring

February 15, 2012

We had a glimpse of Spring last week with all the sunshine we received, we are also noticing hints of spring up in the Skagit. Beautiful.

After New York, we returned to Seattle and set up our booth at the Flower and Garden Show. The gardens were amazing and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. Thanks to all who came and found us. Hope you had as much fun as we did.

New York

February 15, 2012

Bitters Co. was in New York for the International Gift Fair. It was fun and the show went well. We worked hard, ate good food and walked to Javits Center each day on the highline with the sun on our faces.

Whitford House Inn

January 11, 2012

A lovely woman Sarah, who writes the food blog Snippets of Thyme, went on a college trip with her daughter to Vermont. She wrote a wonderful blog post about her stay at the Whitford House Inn and took some beautiful photos to share with her readers. We wanted to share it with our readers as well. The Whitford House is a bed and breakfast in Vermont that Amy and Katie’s mom Barbara runs. It was nice to read such a glowing review. You can find Sarah’s blog at rileymadel.blogspot.com, and her stay at the Whitford House can be found in the travel section. More information about the inn can be found at whitfordhouseinn.com. Thank you Sarah for letting us use your photographs.
